Pirkko Stenros designed a modular storage furniture system in the 50's, the variations, combinations, and extent of which are still matchless in the whole world. In 2005, we celebrate 50 years of production of the Moduli range three-drawer set "Kolmonen" – an unequalled accomplishment for the designer and the company.

Over these fifty years, Kolmonen has lived with us and adapted to many phenomena in society. The post-war period of shortage and reconstruction, the youth movement and hippie trend of the 60's and 70's, the yuppie culture of the 80's, and the techno boom of the 90's have each created their own cultures with their specific ideas of what is beautiful.

In view of the above, would it be surprising to predict that having survived all these social changes, Pirkko Stenros's range will also adapt to future changes, serving us and enriching our lives another 50 years, still in 2055?

This is not possible without a continued dialogue with you, our customers. Although our basic needs change very slowly, we constantly need new applications designed for today's needs. That is why we do not concentrate on planning or mulling over the year 2055; instead, we offer you contemporary furniture here and now. The products launched now in 2005 can, of course, be varied, combined, and extended so that their service time will be exceptional, perhaps as much as 50 years.
